The Greyton Rose Fair community project

But what does that mean exactly?

Each year the Greyton Rose Fair raises funds for our schools and children within communities in and around Greyton in the 'Valley of Grace'.

We get together with a number of individuals and organisations that put our children first.  All have different priorities and different approaches, but each is guided by the same goal – to make a difference in the lives of our children.

Greyton Rose Fair 2019 interim distribution of ‘Abundance’ Funds

Once again our annual event has delivered to the community in so many ways.  The most special aspect of the weekend is the fun and celebration enjoyed by all our people of every age group. Our visitors were not disappointed either with good numbers of weekenders experiencing the village activities.

So, the best part, most enjoyed by the committee every year, is the disbursement of the funds.

With all the bills and expenses paid, and a small amount for emergencies during the year and a bit to spare to launch the next 2020 Rose Fair, we have been able to donate almost R80 000 to support the following activities in the area:

  1. Greyton House school Bursary fund for bright Children

  2. Contributing to the Red Cross Xmas party in Bereaville

  3. Paying for transport for children’s beach outing

  4. Joy2 Read Project helping children to read in school

  5. Project Dignity to help Teenage school girls

  6. Donation to Creche Speelsentrum
