The 2020 Greyton Rose Fair community project

Being able to disperse funds raised from the Greyton Rose Fair is always a great pleasure each year, but even more so this year as we thought we were going to have a 2020 “No-Show”.  But, I am happy to report that this was not so. Although we did not have all the favourites this year, we introduced a two-weekend show, when the open gardens were on display for a longer period.

 

Our combined money raised this year from donations, sponsors, open gardens and the raffle totalled an amazing R76 000 (Last year we raised R85 000).  On behalf of our “PUT A SMILE ON A CHILD” project, this is how we disbursed some of the funds:

 

BENEFICIARIES

• Greyton House School Bursary Fund

• Uitkyk School - for much needed books

• Joy2Read – for training new volunteers

• Vrolike Vinkies Creche – for lunch meals

• Greyton SpeelsenmtrumCreche - for materials for their premises

 

 We retained some of the funds for other projects that occurred during the year
